Is there any way to solve the Furby "me sleep again" problem?

How can I clean up my Furby?
Q. On a resent trip the Goodwill I found a Emoto-Tronic Furby. The little guy functions fine. It woke up while I was in the store and promptly burst into song! (Scared me half to death.) Actually, the only issues it seems to be suffering from are cosmetic ones. The rubber for its beak has a split on the lower portion, the plastic in its ears has broken in half, and the fur is ungodly dingy. So, how can I clean it up?

A. for the beak and broken ear i suggest super glue but make to take the batteries out first also i have "skinned" many furby's in my day and you can take the fur off completely and soak or hand wash it with cold water and a mild detergent let it air dry and put it back on (just use some supper glue along the bottom edge to hold it in place if you don't want to pull it off again.

I bought a Furby at a yard sale. What should I know?
Q. It cost me a grand total of 10 cents. It says it is made in 1968. I looked it up and can't tell if I am suppose to say certain things to it. It is about 6" tall moves yes, mounth, ears and talks gibber and says cockadoodledoo and other things I don't understand. It was made in 1998- sorry. '68 was a good year though.
