A. The monkey paw teaches us that we should be happy with our lives. You should be careful what you wish for, when sitting around thinking how much your life could be better, or what you want in life. It also shows that no matter how bad you life can be, it could always be worse than that.

How to teach my hamster the "paw" trick?
Q. Right now what I am doing is putting my finger bear his chest to make him put his paw on my finger and saying "paw". Then I say "good job good boy" and pet him. If I keep doing this (maybe sneaking some treats in too) will he learn the paw trick on command? Are there any other tricks I could teach him?
Asked by - Tue Sep 27 21:09:18 2011 - Rodents - 1 Answers - Comments
A. From what I know hamsters cannot be trained, if you want a good training pet I would suggest a rat. They are a lot smarter than hamsters.

What is the irony for the short story by W.W. Jacobs, "The Monkey's Paw"?
Q. I need to know two examples of irony that is being played out.

A. (sigh) more homework questions. The whole story is ironic because when you make a wish, if you get it it's supposed to be a happy ending. In this case, the wish came true - but it was far from a happy ending.

How would you say and pronounce "paw" in German?
Q. ...For like, teaching a dog to give paw? I looked up how to say it and it said, "die Pfote" Is that right? If so, how do you pronounce it correctly? Don't want to be saying it wrong. Day Foot? Long "o" sound? That's my guess, but hopefully someone can help me out if I'm wrong! Thanks.
Asked by - Sun Aug 23 12:51:42 2009 - Languages - 4 Answers - Comments
A. To a dog you'd say "Pfote!" (without "die") or "Gib Pfote!" (Give paw). You can look at the following page how it's pronounced, just click on the loudspeaker symbol: There is also listed "Gib Pfotchen", Pfotchen just means little paw.

how do i teach my puppy "paw"?
Q. I tried the thing where you hold a smelly treat until they paw at it, then say "Paw" it worked in a day with my other dog, but the puppy i have now was already taught "Leave it" by her old owners, and just looks away instead of pawing my hand, what do i do?
Asked by Aaaahh! - Wed May 11 00:17:14 2011 - Dogs - 6 Answers - Comments
A. Show the treat, Touch the paw - say "Paw" or "Shake". Then actually lift the paw up and hold in your hand while saying "Paw" or "Shake" and give the treat while holding the paw. Repeat... shouldn't take too long!

Hi all--Do you know if your kitty is a "South Paw?" & how?
Q. This just occurred to me. I really do know a lot about cats, but not this one & have never seen it asked. I realized that every time she wakes from a nap & says "Hello" she reaches out her RIGHT arm & paw. She also pats her toys with her right paw, as well as patting me with her right--when she senses I'm a little "down." Seems beyond coincidence, & after all, what "shouldn't" cats be right or left "pawed?" Have you ever noticed with your cat/s? Love to hear from you. No "nawss" please? (Or do I expect too much?) Thanks! Okay, sorry about that. Just sometimes "seems" people give my word or line to get points. I don't think this is about points, & I'm SERIOUS &am [cont.]

A. Hi there...I just happened to be shopping on-line for one of these harnesses for my dog (we already own one), and your question came up...The easiest way I can explain it is as follows: Unhook the harness and lay it on the floor, making sure to have the small piece that divides the two longer pieces, in the middle. I then take her little paws and place one paw in one opening and the other in tthe other opening. With her still standing, I then pull the two clip ends up on her back and snap. When it is laying on the floor, it should look like a diamond with the smaller piece running down the middle. I know...kind of confusing...Hope it helps!

A. It challenges the reader to consider their own priorities. Many readers will be compelled to place themselves in the position of the protagonist, and make his own choices. Q. 3 questions 1. why do you think the Whites events that happened could be described as a coincidence. 2. could mr white have been different with his wishes and worded then differently so he could have prevented misfortune 3. do you think the old fakirs attitude towards fate is correct
Asked by lookin4ansers123456789 - Wed Jul 9 20:33:45 2008 - Books & Authors - 1 Answers - Comments
A. 1. Of course the events could be coincidence. 2. The wishes came true. They didn't happen in the way Mr. White hoped, but the events precisely fulfilled the wishes he made. So yes, if he had used different and more specific wording, he would have gotten his wishes fulfilled through a different means. 3. Sorry, I don't remember what the fakir said. This is the 3rd question you've posted in the last few hours. Maybe you should consider doing your own reading as soon as it's assigned, so you can do your own homework. We can give you answers all day long, but you need to understand why our answers are right or wrong.
