College (Latin: collegium) is a term most often used today to denote degree awarding tertiary educational institution. More broadly, it can be the name of any group of colleagues, for example, an electoral college, a College of Arms or the College of Cardinals. Originally, it meant a group of persons living together, under a common set of rules (con- = "together" + leg- = "law" or lego = "I choose"); indeed, some colleges call their members "fellows". The precise usage of the term varies among the English-speaking countries. In the United States and Ireland, for example, the terms 'college' and 'university' may be regarded as loosely interchangeable, whereas in the United Kingdom, Australia and other Commonwealth countries, a 'college' is usually an institution between school and university level (although constituent schools within universities are also known as 'colleges').

What college is the best for studying the accounting profession in the state of Michigan?
Q. I am considering a college change. I have just earned my Associates at Baker College of Flint. I was wondering if there is a more credible college here in Michigan that may be recognized if I search for a job outside of the state or if I were to move further up north. I realized that most of my professors with degrees and CPA certifications have gone to the University of Michigan. Would I be seen as a more credible candidate if I went to U of M instead of Baker? Would it look bad to get my degrees (Associate and Bachelor) from two different colleges? I would appreciate professional answers.

A. You want to get yoru Bachelor's degree from the best institution possible and with the best grades you can achieve. You will have access to more corporate recruiters and a better alumni network if you attend the University of Michigan, so I would advise you to go there.

What college has the best campus and still has good academics?
Q. I got a 28 on ACT and I have a 3.5 to 3.6 GPA. Trying to find a college with a good campus, good academics, and hopefully still warm.. Looking for colleges that are looking for 26-28+ for ACT scores too I think, or lower if it is a good school. Money is an issue so it cannot be to expensive

A. Try University of Illinois and University of Wisconsin-Madison for state schools. They'll be cheaper than many private schools, even if you're out of state. My friends that attend these two schools love the campus life and the challenging academics.

What are the college softball divisions & their differences?
Q. I really would like to know a lot more about college softball, as I may want to make that a goal for college. I want to know about the different teams/colleges and the divisions.

A. If you want to play college softball you need to take into account how good you are. If you go to a division one school with a good team, it will be extremely hard to get on the team. But if you go to a smaller school it will be easier. My favorite team is probably U of A wildcats for softball. They always do well and Michael Candrea the coach, is very good and has won many titles for that school's softball team.
