A. Tamagotchi. you can hook it up online and get cool stuff. also, its more portable, and its like raising a baby! it actally evolves al the way up to a grandparent if you raise it right. it can also get married and have an egg, so you have a parent and eggy baby. lil pet shop just lets you play with pets.

Pet pix where cat's nose is prominant, do I use 35mm or digital camera or Adobe Photoshop?
Q. I've seen greeting cards around here in Jersey where there is a photo of a dog or cat and it looks like the nose is almost touching the camera. Does anyone know whether that's done with a 35mm SLR or digital? Can it be done in PS7? You can see what I'm trying to achieve here: That was a PS7 manipulation of this: I don't mind using an SLR camera shot and scanning it in. I love the ease of the digital but it is limited. Anyone that can offer some advice or direction will be my new best friend. Jersey

A. It's not the type of camera, it's the focal length of the lens. The shorter the focal length the more distortion you get. If the distance from the tip of the cat's nose to its eye,is one inch, and you can fill the picture with the cat's head by shooting from 9 inches away from the nose, then the nose comes 10% of the way from the cat's eyes to the camera. If you fill the picture with the cat's by shooting from 1 inch away from the nose, then then nose comes 50% of the distance from the eyes to the camera so it appears much bigger. If you shoot a human with an SLR, use a 50mm lens, and fill the frame with their head, their nose will look too big. That's why portrait lenses are 80-100 mm. With a cat, since their head is rounder, the… [cont.]

what is the difference between optical zoom and digital zoom?
Q. I am looking for a camera to take ordinary pictures of people, pets, outdoors etc. to put on the computer, internet. Do I print these off the computer to get my own snapshots or take them to a store? I want to share pics with grandchildren that live in another state. I have never owned or used a digital camera. My computer has only usb ports, windows xp, 2006. Thanks for your help.
Asked by nese - Sat Dec 19 13:34:52 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. First, I recommend cameras with an optical viewfinder. The LCD viewfinder is almost useless in daylight. If you plan to take pictures outside in the daylight, you will need the optical viewfinder. Canon is the only company that has some compact models with the optical viewfinder. The Canon SD780 IS is an excellent example. Second, you can print them with your computer printer, take them to a store, or send them in over the internet and get prints back. Third, digital pictures is a great way to share with distant relatives. Fourth, the USB ports are perfect for downloading your pictures, just follow the instructions in the manual. Fifth, enjoy.

My digital camera will not remove red eye?
Q. My digital camera flash is set to remove red-eye. It is not reducing the red-eye in my pets when I take photos of them. Is there a reason for this? Is there anything I can do to fix the problem?
Asked by Barb - Wed Jan 3 21:25:19 2007 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Animals just have huge pupils compared to humans. You'll have to learn how to get the red out (or green or white with pets) using Photoshop or some similar program. Clone or paint a small bit of a dark shade at about 50% opacity over the offending part of the image. Working at very high magnification is helpful when cloning or painting. Keep SOME of the white highlight from the center of the pupil, or it will look fake. Here are some eyes I fixed using cloning in Photoshop Elements 5.0, as described.
