How to find if email received is fake and fraudulent?
Q. Sometimes I receive emails stating you are selected for big awards, sometimes it says if you read emails, Microsoft will pay USD 245 per email and so on. How do I know if these types of emails are fraud?

A. Here's the information on what you're asking about: Tips on How to Identify a Scam or Fraud If the email, phone call, prize or lottery notification has any of the following elements, we strongly suggest it is probably a fraud and you do not respond to it. Below are some general tips to recognize scams: -The name of the company is listed on this website somewhere as a scam. -The email matches one of the definitions or formats on this website. -The organization has no website and can not be located in Google. -The email or requestor asks for bank account information, credit card numbers, driver's license numbers, passport numbers, your mother's maiden name or other personal information. -The email or caller advises that you have won a prize - [cont.]

How do you bypass compulsory email confirmation links?
Q. I tried to sign up to something but received a message saying "a confirmation email has been sent to [email address]. Please check your email and click the link to confirm your email address." Say theoretically, I don't want to access this particular confirmation e-mail - don't ask why. Is there any way of getting around this problem?

A. What ever you are trying to join, you will not be able to. It is merely to confirm that you are wanting the program or whatever you are doing. ~

How do I disassociate a free personal email account from a small business email account?
Q. My wife has a small business email account from her company that was associated with her free personal email account. So both accounts share the same password. She wants to disassociate them so each could have its own password. How could this be done? I look around on the email options and could not find a place that shows the other account. However, at the top of the email front page, she could see both accounts and could switch over back and force. Any help would be appreciated.
Asked by - Sun Feb 7 22:37:45 2010 - Accounts & Passwords - 1 Answers - Comments
A. You should NEVER use the same password for more than one account - ever. If the accounts are associated, then the only way to separate them, is to open a new account with no mention of the other account at all. Then, you can delete the old one, or just ignore it and allow Yahoo to close it due to inactivity. Unless, of course the company opened these accounts that way, then you should not touch them at all. If that is the case, you can still open your very own personal Yahoo account totally separate from the business accounts. Or, leave it as it is, and CHANGE the password. To change your Yahoo password: In upper right corner of screen, look for, then click on "Options:" Options / mail options Click on 'account information' in… [cont.]

How do I forward an email without others emails in it?
Q. I am trying to forward an email with images and i do not want all the other emails that came with the email to me to forward. I respect others privacy and do not give out emails. Can you help me out?
Asked by - Tue Sep 15 21:33:56 2009 - Spam & Bulk Mail - 1 Answers - Comments
A. You can remove the previous addresses It's really easy. You have to click on "forward" first---then highlight those previous address (and anything else you don't want)---and then press the delete key on your *keyboard*, and they are erased. Sometimes it's better to only do small bunches at a time. For smaller areas,(or stubborn areas) you can just backspace them out---and you don't even have to highlight for that. When you do send it, I'm sure you're hidding your recipients in the BCC line---???---aren't you ???

How do I email facebook from a different email address regarding a hacked account?
Q. My email was hacked so I made a new one, but my facebook was hacked as well and now it is sending messages to people in real life. The messages are causing a problem and I need the account deleted, but don't have access to the email address the account was made with. How do I get it deleted?
Asked by - Tue Aug 24 17:55:40 2010 - Facebook - 1 Answers - Comments
A. Well, I doubt Facebook will share their log files with you and show you what the IP is that is coming to her page. If she is still the owner of the original e-mail that was used to create the account or the e-mail prior to the new one, perhaps Facebook will change her e-mail for her or cancel her account altogether. I also doubt there is any way for the public to see the persons IP when they post on someone else's wall. If you can get their IP address from the hotmail, there's a chance you can contact her ISP and give them the IP and the time the e-mail was sent so they'll know who had the IP at the time. They probably won't give you any information since you're not the cops, but they may take it upon themselves to send a "notice" [cont.]

How do I send an email through visual basic to a certain email?
Q. So I'm making a game. On the register screen I have given them a spot for username, password, email, and sec word. How do I make it so that once they hit a command button, it sends an email to the email they provided containing a welcome msg and their private details? The email that it would be sending from would be one of my own.

A. Assuming they have access to an SMTP server when they're running the program, you can use CDO to send an email. (The FROM: address has to be theirs - I doubt that there are any providers that still forward email. You could also include an SMTP server, so you send the email directly, but many providers block port 25, so you have to send through their server.

A. Easy! Log in and click on Edit Profile. Then click on Account settings [at the top right] Then in the tabs along the top part of your settings, click on Account and the first thing that it has available for you to edit is your e-mail address. Change your address there. That's the E-mail address you'll use to log in with and in the first tab, Contact Info, you can change that E-mail address so others can find you. I hope I helped!

How do I forward email to another Email accounts?
Q. I need to know how to forward email from specific users to my wife's hot-mail email account. I have tried to use the filters, but I only see options to move the email to folders. I need to forward it to another email account.

A. I have just set up the mail forwarding in Yahoo! because it is so diabolical at present. It seems to me it is all or nothing, so I am forwarding everything.

A. The address that you blocked would also have to block your address. Remove them from your address book, contact then no one will be able to send to it. Unless you manually type in their address.
