Game development is a software development process by which a video game is produced. Development is undertaken by a game developer, which may range from a single person to a large business. Development is normally funded by a publisher. In the early era of home computers and video game consoles, a single programmer could handle all the tasks of developing a game. However, the requirements of modern commercial games far exceed the capabilities of a single developer and require the splitting of responsibilities. You may be able to find a summer camp or classes, try middle, high schools and community colleges. Look for Extension or non-credit classes at community colleges. Also, some community colleges will allow middle or high school students to take classes, see if there is a program that would work for you. One of my son's friends (13 yrs old) takes a Saturday computer class where they learn game programming. You know there are college programs in video games, right? Study hard and maybe you'll get into one of those programs down the line and be able to set yourself up for life!
