How do I find key influencers within online communities?
Q. I want to identify who the key influencers within online communities. Are there any applications or tools I can download / use to do this. For example, Twitalizer gives statistics on users and their influence, which is great. However, it does not list all the users' statistics, only a few. For example, if I want to find the key influencers within a certain subject matter, such as 'equestrian sport'. How do I go about this?

Any good online communities to research?
Q. I have this weird class called Writing 1: Cyberspace and our professor asked us to "explore" an online community and then write about it. I wanted to know if there are any interesting online communities out there. Parameters: no pornographic stuff or anything inappropriate in that respect, nothing that will cause "psychological damage" (nothing that will brainwash), and it should have things like forums, chats, etc.. I was looking more along the lines of political communities but if there is anything interesting that isn't political, that's fine too... thanks in advance!

A. I think a really interesting community is the Second Life community. I've spent a day or two zipping around Second Life world, but apparently there's more going on there than I experienced. I've heard about people who have Second Life spouses, businesses, homes, etc, that are separate from their real lives. There is also a way to make actual money in Second Life! I'm not sure how, but there's even a linden to dollar exchange rate. Linden is the Second Life monetary exchange (at least, I think that's what it's called). A. Huge worldwide resource (street and dirt) for adventure riders the world over. Lots of useful info and some very interesting people on there. Info on gear, bikes, places to ride and everything under the sun. Be careful tho...the inmates will get ya! Spend a little time watching the pictures at the first page and see some of the amazing places these guys go.

A. Myspace is SAFE depending on who you add, just add your real life friends on there and see what you have interest in, if you have interest in Anime, join an anime group, you will be safe. A. Its an rts (real time strategy game) like old warcraft or command and conquer. Usually they play on computers, the mouse makes it easier, but The xbox 360 has its new rts halo wars. It looks awesome. ok onto the question, there are a few good ones. Halo Wars its the official site of ensemble but the best one Ive come acrosss is Halo Wars World Its got just about everything it just needs more members.
