How do I find key influencers within online communities?
Q. I want to identify who the key influencers within online communities. Are there any applications or tools I can download / use to do this. For example, Twitalizer gives statistics on users and their influence, which is great. However, it does not list all the users' statistics, only a few. For example, if I want to find the key influencers within a certain subject matter, such as 'equestrian sport'. How do I go about this?

A. You're asking a question every marketer on this planet wants to know. Read up about marketing, and here's the link - you're after the "early adopters" .

Any good online communities to research?
Q. I have this weird class called Writing 1: Cyberspace and our professor asked us to "explore" an online community and then write about it. I wanted to know if there are any interesting online communities out there. Parameters: no pornographic stuff or anything inappropriate in that respect, nothing that will cause "psychological damage" (nothing that will brainwash), and it should have things like forums, chats, etc.. I was looking more along the lines of political communities but if there is anything interesting that isn't political, that's fine too... thanks in advance!

A. I think a really interesting community is the Second Life community. I've spent a day or two zipping around Second Life world, but apparently there's more going on there than I experienced. I've heard about people who have Second Life spouses, businesses, homes, etc, that are separate from their real lives. There is also a way to make actual money in Second Life! I'm not sure how, but there's even a linden to dollar exchange rate. Linden is the Second Life monetary exchange (at least, I think that's what it's called). It's definitely worth checking out! www.secondlife.com

Where can I find resources and online communities for getting free online gifts?
Q. I'm interested in different websites, particularly trusted forums where I can discuss getting free items online (conga lines, etc...) Only in the US please. If you're skeptical and think that earning items online is a scam or fake, please don't bother answering here - I've heard it all before.

Are there any friendly, reasonably large online communities to meet mature and interesting people?
Q. I'm not looking for a trendy, cooler-than-thou place, but I do want to meet people who, for instance, would rather read than watch Survivor. I've tried myspace and it makes me want to go die. What are some of the social differences between online communities and the real world?

What other online communities are there?
Q. I am currently on Gaia Menewsha-love it Zantarni Roliana Chiniba -love it Are there any other good, safe, ones out there?
Asked by Maya A - Wed Aug 13 19:47:16 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Myspace is SAFE depending on who you add, just add your real life friends on there and see what you have interest in, if you have interest in Anime, join an anime group, you will be safe. DO NOT accept friend request from strangers and try not to tell anyone where you live. Facebook is mature and safe depending on age. Yahoo Answers is solid and a great site as well, educational in some sections.
