A. Northeastern, like many colleges, is now requiring students to apply on-line via the Common Application. They will only accept paper applications if you *must* submit one. If you are going to do that, they only accept the Common Application -- they've completely eliminated their individual school application and won't send you one -- and you *must* include your name and birthday on every single sheet you send. What is a reason someone may request a witness hearing in a drug possession case?
Q. My ex was arrested 08/31 for shoplifting and drug possession. I called the inmate info line after his court date for shoplifting on the 11th, and the charge was no longer on there. He has a requested a continuance on the preliminary hearing for a witness hearing tomorrow on the drug possession charge. He has a co-defendant that is not currently being held in custody like he is. What is a reason he would request a witness hearing for this drug charge?

A. He's really the only one that can answer that, but my guess would be that he has someone who can testify that the drugs were not his, or something in that direction. But in reality, he can pretty much ask for whatever he wants, so who knows for sure.

Q. We used to live in Florida. We received the certificate of title from Florida when waverunner was paid off. We had it registered for 1 year with Florida until we moved to Louisiana and the waverunner sat in storage for 3 years. Now I am trying to get the waverunners registered here in Louisiana. I went through the process of the Annex department and the sheriffs office to register it. Through that process I have lost the certificate of title. How do I request a duplicate? Do I need one? A. I think the key in this situation is letting your adviser know and making sure all of the offices on campus are aware of your plans. Unfortunately, the different offices don't always talk to one another, so to avoid a headache in the future you might want to do a little leg work - you shouldn't have to, but the truth is that the business office and academic services don't always connect the way they should, trust me, just let them both know. A. You can't send them another request twice unless they have declined you. Once you requested them, it says "Friend requested" instead of "Add as friend" and will stay like that until they have either accepted or declined you. If they decline you, that will go back to "Add as friend" allowing you to re-request them.

A. if you've already completed BCT & AIT you have be with your unit at least 6 months then get approved by your commander to transfer to Active duty.. if you've yet to ship out to BCT, talk to your recruiter and your paperwork will have to be re-done. Good luck

A. Unemployment compensation is taxable income. When you file your return next year, you'll add the total u.c. that you received to any other income you have, and figure your tax on that. So yes, if you have other income and expect to owe income tax for 2007, it would be a good idea to have tax withheld from your u.c. payments - otherwise you could end up owing when your file. If you end up overpaying, you'll get the extra back as a refund when you file.

A. Typically it will be at 35 month point of a 4 year enlistment. You will be eligible to apply to retrain. Only allowed to retrain from an over-maned to under-maned or more under-maned career field. Or you can apply for a special duty assignment at that time also. If you are in a critically under-maned career field, it is unlikely you will be allowed to retrain.
