Are sports important on your high school resume when applying to go to a college?
Q. I am wondering because I am very athletic, however I am not sure if I want to participate in any sports. I take on a lot of leadership skills, extracurricular activities, and I am practically valedictorian, but just how important are sports on your resume?

A. Colleges like it if you played sports in high school because it shows that you are a team player and that you have school spirit. It's not necessarily better than other extracurriculars, but it does look good to colleges.

A. It depends where you are located. If for example you are in the U.S. the law makes it illegal for banking institutions to be used for gambling purposes. Thus, if an online sportsbook does take U.S. customers than the number of withdrawal options will be limited and in some cases, it may take a long time for you to receive your withdrawal. Recently, many bookmakers that cater to U.S. customers have had delays going as long as 3 months before a U.S customer could receive his withdrawal. If you are located outside of the U.S., like in the U.K., Canada, Australia or other countries where it is legal to bet on sports online, most sportsbooks can get you your money in a fast and efficient manner. Thus, sportsbooks that cater to the U.S.… [cont.]

Q. I have an el-cheapo cellphone that has internet access, but it can only load small webpages. I used to always use NBC Sports mobile webpage, but now when I try to go to it, I get "File too large". Same thing for CBS Sports website. Has anyone else in the same boat with me found a good mobile sports website that isn't a large file size? Right now I am using Yahoo's but it is not as good as NBC.

Q. What's the difference between the sports marketing and sports management course in college? Thanks.
Asked by crz4mets2 - Fri Nov 28 15:09:40 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I've never taken the course, but I do have a marketing background. Marketing involves communicating with consumers. In the case of sports marketing it involves get consumer to buy more sports stuffs...ie) tickets, jerseys, anything that has a logo or "brand" on it. Sports management would involve contracts, dealing with talent, managing workers ie. sports talent etc.

What sports make you slimmer instead of building up more muscle?
Q. What are some sports that don't make you gain muscle too much but help you slim up? Please give me some examples. I know cardio is good, but what would be some others? And is yoga good to get slimmer too? And is that "step-machine" good for sliming up too?

A. Running and swimming are both examples of great exercise regimes that do not 'bulk' a person up. You could also investigate dancing, and if you don't think dancing is a 'sport,' boy are you in for a surprise! Dancing is a great way to exercise while doing something truly enjoyable! Yoga is never a bad thing. Pilates is also great!

A. I know a lot of Sports Agents are lawyers and its understandable why. Look into Scott Boras, he is one of the best agents out there and he attended law school. Although I'm not sure why (considering it doesn't really pertain to sports) Boras specializes in medical litigation. Check out this link: almost all the agents are lawyers, some majored in economics others in business

What is the origin of sports players wearing black armbands?
Q. Sports players will frequently wear black armbands to commemorate the death of a teammate or close colleague - for instance, the Liverpool/Manchester City players are wearing them today in memory of the Motherwell captain who passed away yesterday. My question(s) are: (a) Where did the wearing of black armbands first originate? Would I be correct in guessing that it's something to do with the military? (b) When was the first recorded instance of sports players wearing black armbands?
Asked by Studley - Sun Dec 30 12:38:29 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. The wearing of black armbands is a custom which originated in Ancient Egypt and came to the West through Republican Rome, when the Toga pulla made of dark-coloured wool was worn during periods of mourning. I dont know when it was first used by sportsmen.

Q. I am a 34A and that is small but they still bounce and get sore. I have been wearing my regular bra for now, but it doesn't really get the job done. I need help finding a good, but not too exspensive, sports bra!

A. Definitely wear a sports bra. If you get the right size there's no reason to wear a regular bra under it (that's a silly idea IMHO). Your cup size isn't big enough to require 2+ bra support during exercise. Sports bras, like the Shock Absorber, have numbers to them (not the size!) that tell you what form of exercise they're meant for. For example, a 1 sports bra is low impact bra - like yoga. Numbers 4-5 are the highest impact - for running and also basketball. So whatever bra you'll get make sure you get one meant for high impact sports. You don't have to buy an overly expensive bra but I recommend you do invest in a good quality sports bra, they'll offer better support and last longer. You can look for them in sports stores or online (li [cont.]
