How do sports improve cooperation and communication skills? I need legit sources!!! I can't do this without sources of where i got the info. Thank you so much!

A. Team sports improve cooperation and communication skills in a number of ways. First, you have to learn to work together in order to achieve a common goal. You are all trying to win, hopefully, so this is your common goal. If everyone on the team doesn't cooperate, then no one will be in sync, your plan won't work, and you will lose the game. In relation to communication, everyone on the team has to cooperate and this takes verbal and nonverbal expression of common goals, or communicating verbally and non verbally. Everyone on the team has to be on the same page and this cannot be accomplished unless there is a great deal of communication between every player on the team. This is only a jumping off point, so I hope it's helpful in getting… [cont.]

What sports does the average american play ?
Q. It's just that your sports all seem to be very elitist to play football you need to be at least over six ft tall as with basketball, here in england anyone can play almost any of our national sports even rugby (certain positions) do you play much soccer as you call it.
Asked by Jack - Tue Sep 8 04:35:13 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I suspect that if you went by the number of participants for all ages, it would probably be basketball. Softball (like baseball except with a larger ball and underhand pitching) would probably be second. Soccer is popular amongst kids, but is not (yet) played much by adults. And you don't need to be six feet plus to play basketball -- that's only for professionals, and not even all of them (specifically the guards) are that tall. I played basketball in high school and college (house league) -- all 5'11'' of me. And I played forward.

What sports/physical activities are good for someone with Cystic Fibrosis?
Q. I want to get my daughter involved in some good sports/physical activities. She's only 3 years old. She has Cystic Fibrosis. We live in New York and walk a lot, she gets out of breath often when we go for walks and walk up hills. But the doctors say its good for her to have to work her lungs. What are the best sports and other physical activities I should get her involved in?
Asked by Heidi - Sat Dec 19 19:13:35 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Regular exercise improves the health of people who have cystic fibrosis. Exercise helps loosen mucus, encourages coughing, improves oxygen flow, and makes you feel better. Upper body exercises, such as swimming or rowing, increase the strength and endurance of the muscles that are used for breathing. After talking to your doctor about how much exercise is good for your child, encourage your child to participate in sports and recreational activities. Team sports are great ways for your child to stay fit and to interact with other children. Talk to the coach or supervisor about your child's abilities and the important role of physical activity in the treatment of cystic fibrosis. Some people who have cystic fibrosis may not be strong… [cont.]

What is the best sports bra for large breasts?
Q. I've recently started training for a team running relay and I'm a little concerned about my breasts. I'm a 36F and they really just seem to be bouncing all over the place! I'm wearing a sports bra, but it doesn't seem to be providing a whole lot of support. So, who can tell me what is the best sports bra for large breasts?

A. The best sports bra for large breasts really depends on the woman. What you consider large may not be large for a different woman. There are some things to keep in mind for all women (and especially those who are bigger than a C cup): Your breasts will move in three different planes of motion while you're exercising: 1) Up and down 2) Left and right 3) In and out You need to find a bra that minimizes motion in all directions. Your best bet is to find a bra that encapsulates and compresses. Most sports bras only compress. An encapsulation bra will enclose each breast in it's own cup and reduces the side to side motion, while the compression will reduced the up and down motion. Also important for ladies with large breasts are… [cont.]

I never see anyone do that, but it's the only way I'm comfortable running.. Help lol?

Is there is a difference between the sports management and sports administration undergrad major?
Q. Some colleges offer sports administration, some offer sports management, and some schools (like Gonzaga) offer both, is there a difference and if so, what is it? THANKS!
Asked by Vince - Wed Jan 7 22:13:16 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Gonzaga's programs are quite different. The Sport Management major is only for a Bachelor in Education. I'm not sure why they'd teach this through the education school, but I guess this would be fitting for aspiring athletic directors? The Sport Administration is actually a major for a Master degree. But that's Gonzaga. As for different schools calling majors different things, I don't think that there is much difference. In my home state, GA Tech offers a "Management" degree with various concentrations. GA State offers a Bachelor of Business "Administration" with separate majors. The terminology of the majors and degrees are different like your "administration" vs. "management," but the course requirements are about 95% the same. So… [cont.]

What is the origin of sports players wearing black armbands?
Q. Sports players will frequently wear black armbands to commemorate the death of a teammate or close colleague - for instance, the Liverpool/Manchester City players are wearing them today in memory of the Motherwell captain who passed away yesterday. My question(s) are: (a) Where did the wearing of black armbands first originate? Would I be correct in guessing that it's something to do with the military? (b) When was the first recorded instance of sports players wearing black armbands?

A. The wearing of black armbands is a custom which originated in Ancient Egypt and came to the West through Republican Rome, when the Toga pulla made of dark-coloured wool was worn during periods of mourning. I dont know when it was first used by sportsmen.
