What is the best breathing strategy when running?
Q. I get side pains when i am running. I also feel like i am not running as hard as i can because my breathing strategy is not good. Should i be breathing through my nose the whole time, or through my mouth the whole time, or should i breath in through my nose and out my mouth, or through my mouth and out my nose?

A. Well first make sure you are taking deep-ish breaths, not shallow like you are gasping for air. A good rule is to breathe in for two steps then out for two steps. It could be three if you want. As for your mouth and nose, its different for different runners. A lot of people say to breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth, which is okay. But if it's not comfortable for you then don't do it. If it's a pretty easy run then I think breathing in and out both through the nose is the easiest. I kind of breath in through my nose and out through both my nose and mouth together. It's weird. The only thing I would advise against is breathing in through your mouth too much. Mouths aren't really meant for breathing as much as noses are,… [cont.]

What is a good strategy to use when you get down to like 3 players in poker, the blinds are up?
Q. We play holdem and I'm ver conservative in the begging playing very little hands. I'll play like J9 off suit worst case scenario in late position type of conservative. I need a strategy for when It's down to three (and I'll usually be the short stack, but have enough to double up once or twice and be the chip leader). Thoughts?
Asked by billydwilliams - Fri Dec 8 19:16:39 2006 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments
A. In the early game with a full table, being conservative pays off. In late game, being aggressive pays. Basically, you need to play hands you wouldn't dream of in the early game. Steal as many blinds as possible, otherwise you'll lose to a war of attrition if you're playing conservative. As always, though, you have to adapt your strategy based off of the other players at the table. If you're playing against other conservative players, raise as often as possible before the blind (just the minimum amount) to steal as many as you can get. If you're playing against aggressive players, re-raise them if you're the big blind to scare them off.

A. Here it is in a nut shell. Original strategy was a short term strategy designed to destroy Saddams empire and military, it worked. Its biggest flaw was it had not contingency operations or planning. Then we attempted to hold the area with to few troops. Which resulted in planned patrols that left us far to vulnerable to attack because we had to ration man-power to maintain a presence. The new strategy is something that I have thought about long before it was implemented. Soldiers need to be taken out of the FOBs, which are large targets more or less, and live amongst the people they are protecting. How long will "Blame everybody else" strategy work?
Q. Obama used this strategy while trying to explain away his association with wright (He had a choice to choose his pastor) Next when he made some condescending comments at a closed door fundraiser, he used the same strategy. He accused the opponents of not focussing on "issues". And then when he did poorly on the recent debate, his campaign and his supporters excuse was "The moderators were biased" How long will this complaining , whining and blaming everybody else be tolerated and will this continue to work? Is this a deflection strategy perfected by Obama?

What marketing strategy can I use to sell a higher quality but more expensive product?
Q. I need to set up a marketing strategy to sell a very durable and reliable desk drawer slide for $8.75 when there is a competitor selling a cheaper less reliable version for only $1.75-- obviously my product is better, but how do I stress that to customers and get them to pay this high price?

A. To market in terms of quality rather than price, and in order to differentiate accordingly, you need to follow the standard format of the 4 P's marketing plan. That is, Price, Product, Place and Promotion - obviously you know the main attributes of the product, and the price, but for 'place' you should think about the type of people who are willing to pay over 4x price of competing product - whereas the cheap option may be sold where emphasis is on cost, your product will be suited to places/distributors where the customers will be willing to pay for quality. Promotion needs to concentrate on the unique selling point / differentiator of the product you are selling, so this would be promotion through media (the choice of which depends on… [cont.]

What strategy is the islamic extremists going to use in this war?
Q. Will it be the "poke the tiger in the eye" strategy. They are far outgunned and outmatched when it comes to a war, so why do they provoke? They better hope someone makes peace, or they are in for some real pain.

A. I don't think they have a strategy. I think they are insane because as you mentioned they don't stand a chance. I think they think the world will just back down and give them what they want. The world tried to pacify Hitler and it didn't work. I hope we stop them soon before they gain more strength.

What is the best drafting strategy in a league that uses defensive players?
Q. I have played Fantasy Football for 3 years now, and I am very competitive. I have participated in 4 leagues, and have done no worse than the championship game in any of those leagues. However, all of those leagues we have played using team defenses only. If I were to join a draft that has individual defensive players, what is the best strategy in drafting?
Asked by DSW07 - Sat Jun 16 16:07:44 2007 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. there are lots of good individual defensive players. let the other teams pick the big name guys early, there is not a ton of difference from the best to the 10th best (or 12, however many teams in your league). take the same approach as drafting kickers- stock up on RBs & WRs early, take em at the end. don't draft more than one, you can pick up a FA or play a matchup when your guy is on bye.

A. The website has a lot of resources for game development in general. You can learn about how to properly plan a game, what kinds of coding you need, and lists tools to help you do it. There are also tons of game engines, etc here As to the how of building a strategy game, you need to consider some aspects. (I think you mean a real-time strategy game? If not, possibly a turn based RPG?), you need to consider balance between units/factions, and development of enemy AI. The easiest way to do this is to make the units identical, just different graphics. A. you should draft a top RB first, if there is another top RB for your second round then take him. historically and for most leagues the RB is the biggest points getters. After the RB position take a quality QB. then you want to get one of these 3 Defenses if available; Baltimore, New England then Chicago. they should still be available in the first 4 rounds and over the past three seasons those 3 defenses have yeiled the same amount of points as some of the running backs. once you get a couple of good RBs a QB and a good DEF then go for a WR and TE. at this point you then want to go for balance. pay big attention to when the players you are drafting have their bye weeks. draft a kicker with your last pick!!! remeber balance, get a RB that… [cont.]

Q. What is the best strategy the United States should use to address the growing influx of undocumented immigrants within its population?
Asked by patternpile - Sat Apr 14 15:35:29 2007 - - 10 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Illegal aliens you mean? 'Undocumented immigrants' makes me gag. It is about space and funding for our schools for our own children whose programs are being cut to fund ESL programs for millions who wouldn't be here if their parents hadn't come illegaly. It is an ongoing cost and the cost of our children's future is too big a price to pay. It isn't about a piece of paper, but about permision, our choice who comes, and numbers multiplied by costs and impacts. As to your question, I don't think we even get there until we have true border security and citizen enforcement clauses to enforcement, and a visa exit tracking program that works. We have to solve the influx, first.

Is there a winning strategy in a standard game of dominoes?
Q. I think that in a game of 14x14 hex, there is a winning strategy for the first player. A "winning strategy" is awfully confusing for me to understand though. When it comes to a game of dominoes, is there a certain strategy that a player can take--particularly in a game with only two players--to effect a victory? In other words, is there an optimal way to win dominoes and become more of a professional player after practicing such a way?

A. I only play standard 6 dot.. I can win fairly often on my gameboy just by trying to controll one number. If you can control that number to where they have to draw frequently you can control the game.. usually by forcing a stalemate and having less points than them is the best way.

A. I don't get it. What's so hard about sushi? Rice is cheap. The fish is expensive, but it's served in such small portions per serving, it can't be expensive. Why not try more Western-oriented sushi (the trend is on in Japan anyway), like beef, or something vegan? That ought to keep the cost down.

What is the best strategy in internet marketing?
Q. If you are given one week deadline to make money online, what is your best strategy in achieving it?
Asked by Antondrive - Wed Sep 26 22:25:40 2007 - - 9 Answers - 0 Comments
A. I would focus on advertising whatever you are going to sell, I would say that internet sales are a big place to start and that is about all the internet is good for money wise. You could sell some old household items on ebay, or purchase some things from overstock or another bulk location and re-sell them for a profit. The opportunities are endless just put a little thinking into it.
