what is the resolution to the story "the monkey's Paw" ?
Q. I am trying to do a paper on " The Monkey's Paw " and having some trouble to finding the resolution can someone please help me with that??

A. Resolution means "ending." If you read it to the end, you know the resolution. If you mean "moral" or "message" I think it is "Watch out what you wish for, you just might get it."

how do i teach my puppy "paw"?
Q. I tried the thing where you hold a smelly treat until they paw at it, then say "Paw" it worked in a day with my other dog, but the puppy i have now was already taught "Leave it" by her old owners, and just looks away instead of pawing my hand, what do i do?
Asked by Aaaahh! - Wed May 11 00:17:14 2011 - Dogs - 6 Answers - Comments
A. Show the treat, Touch the paw - say "Paw" or "Shake". Then actually lift the paw up and hold in your hand while saying "Paw" or "Shake" and give the treat while holding the paw. Repeat... shouldn't take too long!

A. The monkey paw teaches us that we should be happy with our lives. You should be careful what you wish for, when sitting around thinking how much your life could be better, or what you want in life. It also shows that no matter how bad you life can be, it could always be worse than that.

How do "The Ransom of Red Chief", "The Monkey's Paw", and "Night" relate to each other in one universal truth?
Q. I need to know how these 3 books relate in one universal truth/lesson for English please help me!

A. Monkey's Paw is one of the classic "Be careful what you wish for; you might get it" stories. Ransom could be viewed in that light, I suppose. Does that fit the other one?

Puppy bite fingers while giving me "hello paw"?
Q. I tell him "Sit"-"Hello" then he gives me paw and start biting my fingers while I holding his paw! Can't make him stop! He's probably thinks I'm palying with him...any ideas???
Asked by vbell - Sat Mar 1 23:35:06 2008 - Dogs - 5 Answers - Comments
A. Get some of the icky tasting yellow Listerine, put it in a spray bottle, and put it on your fingers before you handle your puppy. THis is in place of Bitter Apple. which really lasts for a long time and is miserable if you get it in your own mouth. At any rate, he'll quickly learn that fingers don't taste good. And by the way, make sure you say NO gently but firmly when he starts chewing on your hand.

My jack russel wont learn "paw"!?
Q. I am not sure if its because shes stubborn or what. I tell her "paw", then lift her foot, i say shes good and then give her the treat.. ive been doing this for about an hour a day for a week and she has shown no progress. She had no problems with ANY other tricks.. Whats going on??
Asked by Bree - Wed Jul 23 23:58:53 2008 - Dogs - 7 Answers - Comments
A. You say 'paw' with her foot on the ground. How does she know you mean pick up your paw when you say paw, when you say it with her paw on the ground? Pick up her paw, hold it until she's calm, then say paw and treat. Then once she learns the word paw with her foot up, start placing your hand behind her leg and saying 'paw' but do not pick up her paw, just nudge it from behind to encourage her to raise it. Finally start offering your hand out and saying paw. It may take more than a week. Don't worry. Some dogs are more paw orientated than others. Albie took awhile to learn shake and high five, Dora came to us already loving to 'slap' at people, it was just a matter of controlling it. =) Good luck!

A. I haven't played that, but I do play Hot Paw with Checkers. Similar rules to Hot Hand but more dangerous with cat claws involved.

Training how to "shake" or "paw"?
Q. I'm trying to teach my puppy how to "paw" he's 8 months old. Every time I reach for his paw, he won't quit smelling it, and trying to get(what he thinks is a treat) out of my hand! He won't pay attention to what I'm trying to do. All he wants is the treat! Will time work this out? Any tips/tricks/solutions? I also have issues w/ training him in general. He's very scared, and has always been. Whenever I try to teach him something, he does it, and after a long while, he finally learns it. But, I have an issue. I give him the command, and if he doesn't know what to do, he will do anything(sit, lay down, anything) until he gets the treat. That's all he wants is the treat. Anyone want to help a new trainer out? THANKS! :)

A. Place the treat near his paw and try to wait until his paw goes up towards the treat. When it does put your palm under his paw and say "shake" (or "paw") before giving him the treat. You can do it also by just picking up his paw and saying the command but the first method was easier for my dog to pick up.
